I said that once I got my new wheels and tires in and on my truck I'd post back in this thread again so here goes

A before and after pic(everything else that has changed on it has happened over the past few months)

And a full size pic

The truck looks soooo much better, I've always hated those wheels, wheels and tires can make or break the looks of any vehicle in my opinion.. My Dad and uncle lowered this thing when it was my dads and those wheels were the "cheapest thing from summit racing that would let us put wide tires on it." I'm so glad I finally changed them...

Looks good
the wheels do make a big difference
I bought a 66 GMC a couple years ago that had a set of those wheels on it and they seemed more of a 4 wheel drive style wheel to me

They are! The old wheels were Dick Cepek DC-2 and they are marketed as a 4-wheel drive wheel... I see them on jeeps and lifted tacomas all the time around here. The back spacing on them along with the tires that were too wide for an 8 inch rim left the tire sticking out of the fender a tiny bit. I always hated that.. and the old setup had terrible wet traction as a combination of the budging tires and tread design.. needless to say I'm happy they are no more haha

I agree, looks much better! You going to lower it any more? And I didn't notice in the old pics, but is your front bumper tweaked a little?

I don't know if I'll lower it anymore, maybe eventually, I kinda like the way it sits right now. I might bring the back down just a tad more. I like the rake but I want the gap between the tire and fender. In all honesty what I want to do next is engine swap. 320k and some change makes for a tired TBI 350. I kinda want to go LM7 5.3 with a carb intake and FiTech EFI setup.. Just as soon as I get a few of my other projects a little further along I hope to tackle that swap.

And as to the tweaked bumper.. yeah it is, always has been. I never have bothered to figure out why... I always assumed someone in the past adjusted it wrong(best case scenario). I want a smooth bumper so when I finally get one I'll have to deduce why the bumper is tweaked.

Thanks! Does it rub very much? I just picked up a 98 Ext Cab with the same wheels and I'm thinking about doing a 4/6.

Hardly ever, if it does it is the tires hitting the inner fenders on big dips at highway speeds. With 4" drop in front you'd probably never hit.

And also my fenders are rolled & lower control arms are trimmed.

While I'm not a huge fan of the grille or taillights (to each his own), it looks like a really clean truck! :chevy:

After you cut the coil do you have any rubbing issues on the inner fenders?

I really like the two tone, the whole truck looks great! Those tail pipes would bug the **** out of me though.
