Tail lighting
I am a proud owner of a 69 Chevy Stepside. But I'm not a big fan of the original tail lighting arrangements. I'm not really sure i what i want do instead though? If i could get your ideas and a few pictures to match, that would be much appreciated!

Re: Tail lighting
I had a set of 18 wheeler round lights in mine. They are about 5" red on one side amber on the other. I just removed my entire light bracket, cut a hole in the bottom of my stake post and bolted the in. I thought they looked alot better than the stock ones. You can get them at just about any truck stop. They work really good too. You might be able to see them in my avatar if you can blow it up to full size

Re: Tail lighting
What I've seen, and plan on doing to my 68 is using an 80's El Camino or any Wagon as the same body as the Camino, of that era, Buick had some nice tails which will inter change.
The tails are in the bumper, and are sealed. You won't have a step, as for a trailer hitch if you tow just get a receiver hitch and modify the mounting of the hitch. Looks really clean and nice, sorry I don't have pics of one on, but could take pics of the one I'm going to use. Dave |

Re: Tail lighting
No pics, but the Speedway catalog has some stainless steel '37 Chevy tail lights that I mounted on an '80 stepper. They're a little smaller than stock, but add a little pizzaz to the rear corner.

Re: Tail lighting
slomotion has the best answer IMO, to me, anything else looks funny.
Speedway or any street rod shop will have what he is describing |
