Suggestions in anti-sway bars?
Howdy -
I'd like to improve the highway drivability of my '72 K10 Suburban. Reading these forums, several folks have suggested adding anti-sway bars. Apparently these became more standard in the '73 and newer. Does anyone have any suggestions on anti-sway bars that you have used? Is it best practice to have them in the front and rear? Perhaps something like this? (link) Thanks in advance! |

Quite a few pre '73 trucks had front sway bars. As far as the later ones I think they are pretty much interchangeable up to '87. LockDoc |
Re: Suggestions in anti-sway bars?
I think the front sway bar for 73+ 4x4 requires a 73+ front crossmember also but I could be mistaken.
I have that addco bar. I have a 2" lift so I needed longer links. I also fabricated brackets to hold the bushing retainers like you see on square body trucks. I also went ahead and used the addco rear bar. Because my exhaust is in the way, I mounted it reverse from the directions pointing toward the front. They do work well |

Thanks BigDav160 and LockDoc! Always appreciated.
Wondering if others have different experiences with other brands? |
Re: Suggestions in anti-sway bars?
I have used Addco and Global West products and have been very satisfied. My Addco's also point forward on my 72 PU, but I can't remember why they ended up that way.

Thanks YOLO. Looks like they have some good options. (including a hydro-boost brake kit...for another day/project). Seems POL builds their own sway bars. have you used them?
