Wheel well liner clearance 83 gmc - Front
2 Attachment(s)
Just installed 3" dropped spindles on my 83 gmc SB. Was planning on cutting the springs to get another 1.5". As it sits without cutting the springs there is about 3" of clearance between the tire and wheel well. Dropping it another 1.5" will leave it at about 1.5" of clearance. Without changing out the wheel wells there doesn't appear to be a way to fix that. Are others running with only 1.5" of clearance? Is there some kinda of trick I don't know about. I don't mind an ocassional rub.
Running 245/45/20. |

Let me know if you do remove your wheel wells. I did the 4.5 drop in the front and 6 in rear and only have the inch of clearance so I have been debating what to do since I cant really drive mine now cause it'll rub. I have a 85 C10

Trim away. I've ran several trucks with 4.5" drop upfront with 245/45/20. You should get on the bump stop before you get in the inner fender so leave them in place.

All these trucks were around 4-1/2 and only the blue truck buzzed the fenders on a big bump.

If you have a jack mounted on the wheelwell don,t forget to take it off and the bolt too if you leave inners on, the bolt makes a nice mark in the tire when you hit bumps
