Hellwig 7401 Rear Sway Bar

My 72 C10 coil spring rear came with the factory front sway bar. I replaced it with a 1 1/4 inch factory sway bar from a 1985 C30 1 Ton. I also installed new shocks, nothing exotic just Monroes. fter I installed the 1 1/4 bar I noticed the rear end feels a touch lighter in the corners as compared to the front. I have been looking at getting a Hellwig (7401) bolt on rear sway bar and I wondering if anyone has one of these installed and can tell me if they are happy or not with it.

Re: Hellwig 7401 Rear Sway Bar

AG I ran one of the Helwig bars for years with 2" blocks on my coil spring rear end. I really liked the way it handled. I have since gone to a 6" rear spring drop from ECE. I also had a custom exhaust put on it. Now the bar does not fit. I am going to have to use a Hotchkis type that mounts higher up. The one thing I did not like on the Helwig was the clamping mounts that it used to connect to the trailing arms. My plan was to drill into the trailing arms and use regular style "C" mounts and "L" brackets off the frame for the links. After I bought all the parts I realized the exhaust was in the way. Wish you were closer, shipping to you is more expensive than its worth, parts and all.
