Good eBay Deal '68 Fender

I was looking on eBay for good deals on parts for my '67 and stumbled across this one. The heading, fitment and picture were confusing so I called and it is a '68 fender. The other day it was $90+ and $50+ on shipping. They changed it to $149.32 with free shipping. I'm sure that its calculated from my zip but they are in Tx so they are centrally located which means shipping SHOULD be roughly the same. All this means NO FREIGHT which can run pretty high. I thought I'd put it out there so someone might have the chance to score a good deal on a part they might need. Of course, I have no affiliation with them. Auction ends Saturday morning.

After reading their Feedback I would probably not buy from them... A 98.6% feedback is not a very good Feedback for a Ebay Seller... anything less than a 99.5 is really a very poor rating... Keep in mind Ebays Feedback is about as liberal as our government...

There are 5 differen't manufacturers of these fenders. Anyone who can sell you one for 149.00 shipped is selling garbage. I know what wholesale pricing is and I know what shipping prices are. It can't be done for the prices they are selling it for. Not the good ones anyway. There are cheap Gorden fenders and others that don't fit for anything and are a lighter gauge of steele. WES

Listing says it's a '67. Looks like a Chevy 69-72 to me. I only buy from people who know what they have or know how to properly list an item. I feel bad everyone's shooting your suggestion down. Thanks for trying anyway.

Wow! All top name people on the forum dumping on it. Maybe its an overstock item from a company looking to dump dusty inventory. Who knows? Granted, I didn't ask who the manufacturer was but it COULD be a good deal. 98.8% feedback isn't toooooo bad for a seller who has more than 143,000 transactions. Maybe it is crap and no one should buy it. Just passin on info guys. :/

I will say this. I called Customer Service and the woman was very polite. She couldn't answer my question so she said she'd have someone "downstairs" open the box to find out. She took my name and number and said she'd call me back. We said our good byes and I thought that may be it. She called back 20 minutes later and said it was indeed a '68 fender. I didn't expect to hear anything back but I did and in good time. I'll give them a high-five for customer service.

I sell quite a bit of stuff on Ebay... It isn't hard to have a very high Feedback score and what I call high is 99.5 and up... 98% is really very poor I don't care how many feedbacks/transactions you have...

Your initial posting actually looked like you wanted us to not only know about this "wonderful" deal but wanted support in knowing this was a real deal... We have provided information for both sides of that... In the end it is always up to the person to make the decision they are comfortable with...

So with that being said if you are comfortable with this transaction and feel that you will get what it is you want then by all means complete that transaction...

These are only our opinions and some of them are educated opinions with experience in dealing with these trucks for along time...

Good Luck on your project... Can't wait to see it... Dan

All I commented on is the item shown isn't the part listed. They say '67 in the listing. You called and was told it was '68. The picture is neither,it's a 69-72. You were wise to call first, but it shouldn't be required and most don't. That's the whole point of buying online, you do it online. I have called to buy items since decades before PCs and I still feel that's the best way. This once again proves that to me.

Had I thought about it while I had her on the phone I would have asked what brand it was. They probably have a lower feedback rating because the Lister is a little sloppy with their work. I love getting a good deal and sometimes you have to read between the lines and do a little leg work to get one. Kinda like that old tale about how the guy finds an ad for a '63 Chevrolet for $300 and finds out its a Corvette. I just bought an overstock dash pad for $40. Turns out its a Counterpart piece. Not too shabby in my book. Hopefully it fits well and my "good deal" won't be for not. And the search for good deals continues...

Always looking for a good deal myself but when it comes to my 67 a good deal is finding a Right front fender that is OEM without rust for 100.00... That is what you are looking at on my truck in this picture... LOL

I've tried to find O.E. sheet metal in vain. Nothing local...I did a WTB. I haven't given up yet!
