Ridetech Coilover Kit Experience

Can anyone give feedback on their experience with this kit? I'm looking at my option for my 1971 C10.

I dont want to lay frame of course just want more performance out of the suspension and have a good ride quality.

Can anyone confirm if Ridetech centered the wheel in the front wheel well? It was never made clear by them in their original post about the kit.

Of those of you running the kit, what tire an wheel combo are you running? Feel free to post photos of your setups!

Thanks!!!

I see this photo of kooks87 with 20's looks real nice. His truck looks like the front wheel is centered. I contacted ridetech by email to see if they will confirm

I'd give them a call they are always quick to answer the phone and are usually very good at getting the information you need even if the guy answering the phone doesn't know the answer.

I've always dealt with Josh at Ridetech. Give him a call.

posts 30-33, & post 41 - definitely not centered, but the trucks still look great. Kooks87 is the only post I've seen with the wheels centered up, and his truck also looks great.

Re: Ridetech Coilover Kit Experience

The question was asked in the ridetech coil over thread but no one from Ridetech answered the question I believe.

As a side not if my brain is not scrambled from ready all these post. Nate from Porterbuilt mention that the forward arm on a static drop was not as noticeable.

Re: Ridetech Coilover Kit Experience

Hard to believe only one member (kook87) is running this coil over setup. This looks like the best solution for my truck as the prior own converted it to a rear leaf with some cheap welded hangars and it rides like crap.

There was a post by someone at ride tech that stated there shop truck had the wheels centered in the wheel well. The picture post after that did not look centered. Although kook87 truck it does look great

Re: Ridetech Coilover Kit Experience

Looking at porterbuilt and no limit they all use the ridetech shocks on their coil over systems. Ridetech must be doing something right

I don't know how good the other ridetech products are but I can speak for their shocks. The ridetech has shocks are great. They improved my air ride suspension greatly. I wish they could make roads better. Some roads have too many potholes.

Vendor MCB Matt has a good deal right now, trying to convince myself spending over $4k on the truck at this moment is worth it

We centered the wheel with the bottom of the fender opening.

It's worth it, every part I've bought from Ridetech has been. Great service and great products. Heres another picture to convince you

Re: Ridetech Coilover Kit Experience

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread. But the funds are finally right and I need to buy a suspension kit for my 1971 c10. Can anyone who has run the Ridetech coilover kit give me some feedback on bottoming out the front suspension? Meaning it hitting the ground?

This is my biggest fear. I plan to run 275/40/20 rears and 245/40/20 fronts.

I dont want to put on the kit and not be able to pull into a driveway. Any photos of how close the lowest point on the front is to the ground

I appreciate any help you guys might be able to offer before I drop 5K.

Thanks

I hope this is not too late for you, but I just completed my install. 1971 GMC Stepside with the ridetec coil over. I did have some issues due to frame twist, but took my time and a bit on the alignment machine, but it dialed in great. :gmc2: I installed the rack and pinion from No Limit Engineering at the same time as well as 255/55/17s (8" wheels) up front and 175/60/17s (9.5" Wheels) in back. Hope this helps. Drives like a new truck!
