Rear shackles wider

Replacing my rear spring hangers, shackles, u bolts and U bolt plates on my new to me 84 k20 which will be a deep snow cover it in salt winter only driver. Truck currently drives nice and straight at 70 without any issue although I did just swap on a newer AVS1 to replace the quad with tamper proof jet plugs

Everyone likes carnage so a few pictures below;

Eventually I will do the springs and shocks(next fall) with new U bolts. But right now the spring plates are broke in half so I don't want to test/tune much more till this is done.

The bolts have been soaking for a few days. I am waiting on the new 1/2" thick u bolt plates. But I want to get the shackles and hangers loose today and this done by the weekend.

The hangers are correct. But the shackles seem considerably wider. On the bottom its dang close. But the new shackle may just rub the hanger on the inside unless I put a washer on the back side of the hanger. Sliding a washer in there is going to be fun. But if recommended I will do it.

The top of the old shackles measure 2 7/8" on the inside and the new ones measure 3 1/8". But, the old ones look like they have been crushed down so maybe I should Just give it heck and tighten the heck out of the new bolts and it will center itself? Or are washers to clearance things the way to go here?

Truck drives straight currently. I dont want to create an issue because I did not throw some washers in.
