Clutch Head Bolts

How do you guys take the bolts out that hold on the rear fenders? Is there some obscure store somewhere that still sells clutch head tools or do I have to grind off the heads?

They make the tool but we generally use a torch cause it easier. Don't waste your money using the screw driver type tool. Generally they are rusted on too tight to remove by hand

Snap-on tools sells one. I have one that a buddy left in my box years ago. I think a 55-57 car parts place sells a kit as well but I would just grind or torch them out as suggested because they will almost always strip out.

The clutch head screw drivers are hard to find. I agree with the above of grinding or torching them out. Or find a large phillips screw driver and grind the tip down till it fits.

Interesting. Thanks guys. Definitely planning on just grinding off the ones on my bed, but I might buy a tool just in case I ever do a restoration.

I ran into the same problem, were to find a clutch head screw driver. I looked at every hardware store in town and found nothing. I did find some on Snap On's web site, but like everything else they sells it cost alot for just one. I ended up finding a set of 4 at Chevy Duty witch is now called American Classic Trucks. Here's their web site. http://www.chevyduty.com/frame-store.html
