Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build

Project 2nd Gen has begun.

All the cabs I will be building from here on out will have major improvements over my first one. Most of the parts that I'm using I will be manufacturing to be able too do less fab and more efficient assembly.

I believe that I have developed a really good quality technique of building these cabs and am looking forward to building them. There will not be as many pics of the fab work, just pics of the assembly.

Very nice Randall. Will you have a stream line way of doing the 4th door?

Brake press is finished, the only thing left is to make different dyes for each job. Now I can get back to building the crew cabs. This will make my job soooooo much easier.

That is awesome! Once you get all the dyes right are you going to start pumping out pieces to sell to others for their CC projects?

No I don't think so. We are not planning on using burbs too much further down the road as we are planning on stretching truck cabs. The more tooling that we make the easier that will be. I to am a burb enthusiast and would hate to see the burbs become scarce.

I know when I get to the point of building mine, I'll be purchasing what ever you're offering for sale for these things. It'll ake it go a lot faster, and it'll be a lot stronger too.

I called them about two weeks ago and was told it would coast about $15,000 to do a cab. Then you do the finish body work to the cab and stretch the chassis. Sounds Good to me.............

Nice build! I am sure i missed it so i will have to ask. Did you have the solid back door glass custom made or will one from something else fit? I am building one and was wondering which way to go with getting a glass.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build

Im sure you have heard this a thousand times but that build is beautiful! I can see massive amounts of work and even though I have only done a little body work myself I know you must be a very patient and talented guy! Congratulations on such an incredible work of art!
Now you need to drive that sucker to GM's headquarters and show it off!
I have a 69 C10 that I would love to do some custom work to, I don't know what direction I'm taking yet but you have me thinking of an extended cab, possibly one with a suicide door on one side with a hidden latch like newer trucks. I hope you try something like that someday so I can see how it should be done!
Keep up the great work and I wish you luck on your venture!
