60-66 Stepsides Rear View...

Looking for ideas on what to do as far as chains, latches, tail lights, etc.
I'm going with the original bumper.

...I'm boring...I'm going back to stock for the tail lights and chains with clear protectors. The chains are part of what I love about these old trucks

I like the chains as well and like to pull the tailgate down, but I don't want the ratteling.

I've thought of doing this with my step's gate... K-mar has some ideas on their website (http://www.mar-k.com/tailgate_closure.html)

As stock as possible on the rear with original chains, black covers and stock lights.

My 66 doesn't have the stock or correct bed on it so I took some liberties. Still looking for a way to latch my tailgate. When my tonneau is closed I have to open the tailgate before I can open the tonneau cover. Still working on this though. I want the latches inside the bed somehow.

That truck has the perfect stance I love it. I would probably pick some different tires and wheels. But really that truck is super clean.

As for the post I love the chains in the back. Not sure what Im going to do with my tail lights though.

Re: 60-66 Stepsides Rear View...

I like the idea of using GM seat belt latches to keep the bed closed, and the Mar-k hidden support kit. I'd like to go that route at some point, but for now the chains work just fine. Plus, it's fun watching people try to figure them out for the first time. Already, though, a buddy of mine dropped the tail gate without the chains hooked up and dented both the tailgate and license plate light :cuss: so in the long haul I'll be doing something different.

I've considered putting a similar light up on the cab like this one:

On post 22 showing the 3rd brake light from what I understand one from a 96 Suburban fits nice and snug above the back window.

I'm sure lots of lights will work, love the look of the LED's.

I temporarily installed my 93 Cadillac Deville tail lights sideways onder the bed until I get some cash to have them frenched in.
