Street Demon Carb Choke and Secondary Plate Issues

I have a brand new phenolic Demon street carb.

I have had an issue where the choke plate will close and actually get stuck by closing too far. This in turn would not allow the choke to open as it is stuck in the carb body. The truck wouldn't start or idle.

I contacted Demon and they said to send in carb and they would charge me to fix it. I told them I didn't have time for that nut that they had an issue they needed to resolve.

I ended up grinding a large washer to have a "finger" on it as a stop, and bolting under the air cleaner stud nut. The finger would keep the choke plate from over-closing as well as not interfere with the air flow.

Anyone else experience this? I have seen a few of the same thing on the net, but wondered if anyone else has come across this issue.

I also had an issue where the upper secondary plate would stick against the carb body and not open at all under full throttle. I had to pull the plate off and file it down as to not get stuck. It was at the rear around the bowl vent.
