New guy here with 1970 C50 grain truck vibration question

Hey all! I'm hoping to get some help on my grain/dump truck. In 4th gear around 45 mph I get a loud metallic vibration seeming to be coming from the carrier bearing/center support bearing. Going under the truck I get a lot of driveshaft movement suggesting the same. Can someone point me to a supplier or other common problem with this truck. I really don't know anything about it so any help is appreciated.

You should be able to get the Center Supports at your local parts dealer. Try to get good quality ones. Maybe someone on here can recommend a good brand. Check the Center Bearings when you have it apart. Most of the time it is just the Supports that are the problem.

U joints can make a metallic noise as well when very worn. Here's a Timken catalog, they show several applications for driveshaft supports on page 14 and 15 for older medium duty trucks, you'll have to measure the bearing to get the right size.
