it finally happened

I have wanted to convert my 68 to 4 wheel drive for as long as I can remember. first I bought a 78 f150 front axle thinking I could keep my truck coil sprung. Then I got a 77 k10 long bed, but the wheelbase was way off. I then bought a 74 4wd suburban because the wheelbases are only 2.5 inches off. I got to thinking about it and figured the only way to really do it where it looks good is to bite the bullet and buy a 67-72 4wd chassis. I found a 72 k20 that I got as a parts truck so I could have disc brakes and power steering.
First I pulled the old truck out of the barn its been in since 1991 Attachment 1613071 Attachment 1613072 Attachment 1613073 Attachment 1613074 Attachment 1613075 |

This is a picture of the truck in 1986. My dad is driving and I am sitting right behind spare tire.

I remember you had plans to do this. And now you did! Awesome! You hit the easy button going with that chassis...I'm sure you know. Looks great. Anything worth havin' is worth waiting for.

Re: it finally happened
You did a phtoshop making this a 4wd years ago, right? And, this was back when the popular opinion was long Stepsides are the redheaded stepchild of these trucks. Opinions have changed. It takes people with vision to turn heads around

I know its crazy! The truck doesn't even run yet, but I got a set of 35x10.00r16 Super Swamper TSL SX2s, on Ford 16x7.5 steel wheels. Call it motivation.

Re: it finally happened
That looks sick, I love the cut fender cups, I did the same to an old K2500 step I had.

Re: it finally happened
I love your truck. I've been following on Instagram. One thing I was wondering while looking at the photos is what is the logo/lettering just below the fender emblem?

I got front and rear bumpers from South Texas Outfitters, so this weekend I took the rear bumper off. It was welded on so it took 3 times as long as it should have. Surprise surprise.
