TH350 Whining sound

Recently started hearing whining sound coming from tranny. I think someone told me it was the pump and it would probably get louder and then eventually truck would not move, then would need overhaul to fix.

Wanting to insure that I was told correctly.

Do you have any history on the transmission? How does the fluid look? Any shuddering, shaking or grinding?

No problems at all since purchase in 2015. Have had all seals, gaskets replaced since then. Wasn't sure if there is an alternative to resolve other than rebuild if it comes down to that.

It has the OEM transmission.

Fluid good, no shuddering or grinding or anything else.

Not a expert but if its whining its probably a matter of time before the pump goes out. On my old transmission the guy that rebuilt mine said my front pump was on its way out but mine wasn't making any noise. I am also having issues with my transmission. Is the noise really loud or is it faint?

Quiet whine or loud? I ask because my 75 has a soft whine when it starts to move. Been that way since my dad first brought it home in 78. Only done about 200k miles since then.

Might be worth doing a filter/fluid change. If its already dying, won't hurt much. If the noise is due to plugged filter, might just fix it. If you find a large pile of metal shavings or other material in the pan, you likely also have your answer.

Does the whine ever go away? I have had several that would whine in cold weather or just when cold and then goes away.

Seals, filters, fluid replaced in 2016. Hard to tell how loud or quiet it is cause I'm the only driver and can hear it at accelerating from stop or slowly moving in D or R. May go away at higher speeds. Can only hear engine and exhaust then.
