Interior questions 1990 k1500

With my carpet and plastics out... what would be my best bet on cleaning old stains and dirt/dust? I've watched a few videos on this and it's basically people advertising their own products. :help:

My carpet was shot, but what I did on the door panels, seat belts, and such was rub hand cleaner into them and let it sit a while. After that I rinsed then washed with dish washing detergent. If your carpet isn't to bad it may work. Can't remember the brand I had, but any good shop hand cleaner should work though you may want to try a small area that would normally be hidden first to make sure it didn't strip the color. I had no problems at least.

Simple green, purple power, super clean, etc. and a scrub brush will go a long way on filthy carpet. Follow it up with a pressure washer, and you can make even the crustiest carpet passable. Make sure it is completely dry before you put it back in. Works on the seat belts too. I'll second the hand cleaner idea on the plastics. Work it in real well with a gray scotchbrite and it'll get all the gunk out of the texture on the plastic. My plastics were too faded for my liking after they were clean, so I used SEM Color Coat on them. They look like new now!

I used bleach and a tooth brush on my 1972 parchment door panels. Cleaned them up like new.

Do those have any cloth on them?

No. No cloth on the 72 panels. I wouldn't put bleach anywhere near cloth or carpet. If I remember you can remove the cloth insert of the new style door panels and clean the separately.

Thanks for the suggestions. I used some dishwashing soap, scrub brush, and pressure washer. It did decent but I believe I'll pick up some purple power tomorrow and see if it does any better. I may be pissing in the wind... but I really don't want to buy new carpet .

cant you just spray the carpet with simple green or something similar and pressure wash it? i even remember doing this minivans that were disgusting while they were still in the vehicle when i was a kid, just took days for it to dry out. but used to do it with floor mats daily.
