Front spring wont sit right

Hey guys, my 72 has all new suspension parts working under the factory A-arms with stock height springs and 2 1/2 inh lowering spindles. I've run into an issue where the drivers side coil is angled inward at the top whereas the passenger side spring sits straight up and down (looking at springs from front drivers is angled like this--> \ ). I noticed this after driving the truck and taking a right hand turn too fast, the drivers wheel rubbed against the inner fender. I took apart the drivers side yesterday and made sure the spring was sated at the end of the groove/channel on the lower arm and repeated the right turn with the same painful result:waah:. Any suggestions?

Did you check the top of the spring to see if it was seated properly? There is a round protrusion up in the spring cup that the spring fits around.

I didn't locate the spring to the top surface as it would have moved the position along the bottom. Does the top mounting take priority over bottom?

Yes. Seat the top first then turn the spring until it sits properly in the lower groove.
