Wheel/Tire Fitment Pictures & Info

hey guys, I am trying to compile some data and pictures. The second gen camaro site has a thread in the FAQ's that shows pictures of various levels of suspension mods, and the tire/wheel combination that goes with it. i am trying to do a similar thread for this site.. Josh said he would post it in the FAQ section once we got the data together. What we need is a picture of your ride with the specs on your suspension, wheels, tires. It would be nice to have 15, 16, 17, 18", etc. wheels with stock, 2/4, 3/6, bagged, etc. ride heights. Please include the specifics on your wheel/tire manufacturer, size, and don't forget the backspacing on those rims. It would be an AWESOME thread for the new (and not so new) guys to see the various setups, so they can decide on a direction for their ride. So lets get to work and get-r-done. Thanks Dwayne

I think this a good idea but one of the mods need to make this thread a sticky.

I already pm'd Josh, so there should be no problem

wheel & tire fitment

My truck only has a 1" drop in front and a 2 "drop in the rear. The first picture is with 17 x 7(3.5" bs) and 255/60/17 tires and the back are 17 x 9.5(5.5" bs) with 275/60/17 tires. The back w/t combo will fit good on a fleetside but they rubbed on the inside and I had to use a spacer on one side and I also HAD to have an adjustable panhard bar to center the rearend. A 9.5" rear wheel would work better on a stepside with 5" of backspacing unless you use a smaller rear tire like a 275/50/17.

In the bottom picture is when I changed back to 15x8 with 275/60/15's all the way around. Most of you are probably wondering why I changed from 17's to 15's. I drive my truck everyday, it really is a daily driver. I needed to go to something with better service. Tires are cheaper and I can rotate them for longer life. I'm happy with my decision. :aiiet:

Any chance we can do the same thing for the 4x4 Trucks and Blazers? lifts, bodylifts, tires, wheels, etc.

Awesome Idea

Ok, here is my truck, 72 Long bed with 2 1/2" drop spindles, and 1" drop coils in front, and 5" drop coils in the rear. Tires are Good Year Eagle GT II's 235-60/15 front and 275-60/15 rear on 15 x 8 steel rallys with 4" bs, I believe.

powell72 03-31-2005 11:29 PM

Elsie72, your truck has a great stance, got any closeups of the 235's on the 8'' wheel?

Thank-you. I like how everything turned out, and the ride is much better than I remember it being at stock height. I don't have a good picture of the front tire, but I can go take one and send it to you.
