Very kind of you to say. We worked real hard on preparing the shop for these builds, it seemed we would never get to start actually working on the trucks. All that work is really paying off now. We were able to lift the frame off the fixture table and flip it upside down and then put it back on to the fixture table with just two old men and we did it in around 3 hours

That would never have happened without the planning and design work we put into the fixture and the rotisserie.

Wonder what the price tag will be on this build?

Well the building costs a lot, and I did buy two Burritos for lunch so there is that:lol:

We will get back to you.

Short time lapse of the first day we put the stock frame on the fixture.

Cut some big holes in the frame. :metal:

Smooth siding the stock frame after boxing it.

Hate these dimples and holes

beautiful work! Its amazing to see people have the patience and abilities to do these activities. Hope to see you all keep posting and showing your trucks off! Wish I had some people around my area close to help out! Keep it up

You would be surprised what you can accomplish if you just try. Honestly I think I taught myself more in a few hours in my shop then any teacher ever taught me in a tech class.

Greg and I had a pretty good day yesterday. we picked up a mock up block and set of heads as well as our core 700R transmission. We bolted it into the frame and now we can get started fabricating the transmission cross member and I can get serious about building the all 304 Stainless exhaust system.

The Hedman Chevelle Headers Greg bought from Summit fit amazingly well, nice and high and with lots of room.

so here are a few pictures

Nice build. Sometimes I think when people see a build like this where you obviously have it under control there's a tendency to sit back and enjoy the show without throwing out anything that may be distracting.

Believe me, people are watching (and learning), Rg

Big day for us.

We fabbed the removable transmission cross-member. this single piece really had us scratching our heads as it has so many obstacles to address. It had to be less then an inch thick where it spanned the exhaust. It had to give clearance to speedo cable. Also it had to be strong enough to handle a built 454's violence.

Greg got serious about cutting out and replacing the steel on the frame sides

I stood around with a tape measure and made faces figuring out this fab.

Asking myself if running a 3" exhaust inside the frame was really possible. I'll get back to that in a while, anyway here is our solution to the Transmission mount.

So here is the reason for the head scratching. 3" 304 Stainless exhaust we are custom building.

The front section has to be able to drop out for transmission service, incorporate the H-pipe and leave clearance for the heat shield we will be building.

The Flowmaster Stainless Steel 50's showed up, why they are painted black is beyond us but they are here. So working on their placement and figuring out how to hang the exhaust under the rear end.

Thank you. We are working diligently to going forward without having to undo or change anything. Planning and preparation have been a primary focus and it is starting to pay off.

Finished up the exhaust to the back of the mufflers, still waiting on some more mandrel bent tube to get the back half finished. Went ahead and built some brackets to hang everything with urethane isolators on 3/8" hardware.

So Greg and I got the body loaded back on the frame to let us figure out the steering column and finalize the firewall. Waiting on the valve covers to see how much room we will have.
