Following along, would love to mount a truxedo style toneau cover on my 66 stepside. Do not want to drill holes in the bed, so am thinking of using stake pockets for bolt down.
Haven't come up with a plan yet, narrowing one hasn't appeared to be straight forward.

Here's my $50 starter kit. I basically bought it to use as patterns/templates, and for the window hardware.
I'm going to convert the rear of it to a camper door, like the Siesta that Aerotruck posted in Post 5.
Mine also has fasteners along the back edge to add a canvas awning like GemTop ad in Post 12. I'm going to retain those and have an awning made.
I'll use it on my '62 long-bed step-side K10. The rebuild will include a notch in the camper shell's sides to clear the bed-mounted spare tire.
I'll also add some kind of roof rack for my vintage aluminum canoe, and that'll double as attachment points for the overhead pulley/storage I'll have in my shop to lift the shell on and off the truck. I'll just use it for camping and hunting trips, and keep it off the truck the rest of the time.
