Extreme budget build

Just wanted to share my project!

It's a 67-88 mutt. I started in 2007 and this what I have achieved,

I'm getting close to tags and insurance!
I got the truck around the same time my wife and I would find that our family would begin! I knew then that the truck would be difficult to budget and work on with a baby on
the way!
I've sold off all of my other hobby stuff to get the show on the road, pearl drum set, twice used snowboard gear, nitro Rc cars, home theater ect. Ect.
Bought the truck for $500, rented a tow dolly and drug it home! Pushed in the garage and my wife's first words seeing it were " what is that pos doing here?"

I started pulling the truck apart without any knowledge on how to. So I searched the Internet and found this site ! More info than any other sight by the way!

July 29th 2008 welcomes little Ephraim Kyle Gosler 8lbs 7oz
I'm a very proud poppa! (Truck is officially on the back burner!)

I get to work on the truck every so often an hour here a hour there!
Birthdays and Christmas are now parts opportunities.
In 2009 our son started developing a little differently!
2010 Autism is the official diagnoses! Our hearts sink, life will be different!
the truck is now off the back burner and in the fridge! It's even been posted on Craigslist several times!
I've taken a lot of aggression, tears and pain out on fenders and rust! It been therapeutic and I'm glad i haven't sold it!

My wife has even come around now that it is clean and our son loves it! So here it is as I have documented it

Looks like you are dedicated to it, and have done quite a bit of work to it already. Good luck with your build. Its nice to see your son and wife like it now.

Suspension is pretty simple! 72 front spindles, discs 5x5 bolt and the rear is 72 373 gear 5x5 bolt. Front lower control arms have been cut and plated for airlift 2600 bags! Rear are airlift 2600 bolt straight to the frame!
Wheels are aero racing wheels with 275/50/15 BFgs up front and 295/50/15 on the rear! Motor is a 1977 to 85 305 with a mild cam, long tube headers, and edelbrock intake and carb.
80 something 700r4 transmission with one piece driveshaft!
The bed is made from 1/8 gauge sheet metal ( not 100%on the gauge) which is pretty much just a box drawn off the same deminsions of the orignal, shaved the tailgate and steps and bolted the fenders to it using the old panels as a template.
New front fenders I found on Craigslist! Orignal rears, patch panels from lmc!
New brakes and brake lines from Advance auto (this when the birthday and Christmas gifts kick in)
I'll post more pics as I get them converted

Paint is flat white rustoleum door paint with tractor hardner! (This is when people turn there nose up) painted in my garage! I have since gone back over it with rustoleum water based clear outdoor sealer.
