93 C1500 Short Box
1 Attachment(s)
Just kind of fell into this truck. Originally from Texas and is in great shape for now residing in the midwest. It's to cowboy for me with the wheels/tires. I want to lower it 5/6, cowl hood, debadge, dechrome, roll pan, new front bumper, grill, remove blue crappy tint and spray an implement paint or single stage. I like the battleship grey color. Trying to keep this a budget build. Looking for some experienced input on most cost effective way to lower it, wheel size etc etc. Once the 4.3 fails I will swap with a 5.3. Thank you for any responses.

Re: 93 C1500 Short Box
the 5.3 swaps in these trucks are pretty easy ,darn near bolt in, swaping the motor mount is the hard part. I am doing a 6.0 4l80e right now

I have always wanted a big block.....I bet that combo in a truck like this would be a screamin' demon.

Scored these this week. I would love the 5/6 drop but it appears a 2/4 would be best suited for this truck's main use.

Djm components, 5/6. Belltech street performance shocks, 15x7 in the front and 15x8 in the rear. Tires are 215/65/15 fronts and 295/50/ in the rear! Nice score on the wheels btw! Was actually looking for a set of those but a guy down the road had the American racing wheels on my truck for 100 dollars for the set with no tires.

Change of plans, going to start with a 2/4.....I'm having a hard time picking the right one....where would you purchase from and what should I expect to pay. THank you.

Re: 93 C1500 Short Box
you did it smart, i wouldnt buy anything up here. my 1990 is a rotted mess, i visited my brother in austin texas and was in awe of how clean the vehicles were down there. his neighbor had a 95 suburban with 250k on it and i was just laying under it looking at how clean it was, even had paint on the leaf springs and frame still.
so when mine finally rots away ill be getting one from down south also |

I stopped at my wife's uncle's place as he told me he had the original seat and an unbroken dash top. I love this old stuff.

Hey ruddbow, I would look on djm' website for a 2/4 kit. And nice score on the seats! I also just replaced my bench this weekend.
