Balance Beads - Yes or No

Has anybody used balance beads? Opinions? Good? Bad? I hate wheel weights on the outside of the wheel and stickons don't always stick on. Sometimes there is even clearance issues. I've had 33's take a lot (to me) of weight and was curious about these.

A coworker uses them in his motorcycle tires, loves them. He tried them in his truck tires, late model Chevy, oversized tires and wheels, the beads didn't work for him.

a lot has to do with tire quality .

and lots of times name brand balances out worse than no name stuff.

so its hit or miss on if they will work for you .

static balance is no weights on the front . about your best bet . and also if they have a newer balancer machine . they can set it up to show best tire position on the rim for least balance weight required.

I ran them in my 36" Super Swampers and they were excellent. They rebalance every time you drive. Big rigs have a similar optional bead ring that can mount behind the wheel on the hub and has a bunch of steel balls encansed in a steel round tube.

Have had them on 3 different vehicles now, and will never do regular weights again.

I also used to be a truck drive years ago, and had centramatics on my rig. My rear tires lasted till 400,000 miles, and still were technically legal. Just replaced them since I was heading into winter, and wanted new tires for safety. It it we're summer I would of left them for a few more months. Most rear tires last about 250,000 miles under similar conditions, but since they were always balanced they ran cooler. Thus were able to last longer.

I use about 9 oz. of airsoft pellets in each of the 35's on my cherokee. They work great.....
