Transmission cooler line setup
3 Attachment(s)
I’m not a technical guy in any way ( at least
building cars). But I recently got this passion for old American trucks, so I bought one from y and got it delivered to Stockholm. The first thing I noticed was that it was too tight between the steering and the seat. I almost couldn’t fit. What the heck did I buy!!!!! So I started doing some research one how to make it “modern “. The progress is doing well, and now I just finished setting the hydraulic cooler hoses. I need some positive feedbacks (negative also respected) Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Transmission cooler line setup
It looks good to me, provided the inner line isn't too close to the exhaust. I just put headers on my old Buick and I'm debating between soft lines and bending up some copper-nickel.

need a distance of 6” from the exhaust. Too be secure I mounted my headers to be sure, and I’m satisfied with it. Thanks for the input. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Transmission cooler line setup
Personally I would run hard lines from the radiator to the transmission use the rubber hose for both ends to connect it. Run the lines up in the frame rail and hide them out of sight. The hard lines will be much smaller also which will give you more room.:chevy:

Looks good I like the custom separation brackets, also you may need to protect the hoses once the inner fender is in place. What was your solution for interior modern updates? Custom seat, and steering wheel changes?

Will the inner fender still fit?

Re: Transmission cooler line setup
I would just put some DEI reflective sleeves on the lines where they are close to the exhaust. They make it with Velcro so you won’t have to disconnect the lines. I have used this stuff with success on turbo cars at much closer proximety.
