fuse box short

I was driving to a car show yesterday and about half way there my A/C stopped working and a odor sprang up. I stopped to make sure there wasn't a fire and sweated the rest of the way to the show. This is what I found after I arrived.
Will I have to replace the fuse box since the right prong melted into the box on the Heater fuse?
I think that is the ignition wire (Purple) that is burnt under the hood.

Looks like they don't make a replacement Fuse Box, so I wonder If It can be repaired?

The first thing to do is find out what caused the short. Then you can simply remove the wires on each side of the fuse and connect them through an independent fuse of the same amperage.

Took the truck to a auto electrician in the big city, He found the short and fixed it, checked everything else in the system barring tearing the dash apart, showed me a couple of issues I should have taken care of. It cost $260 for everything. He had it for 3 days.
That is all the guy has done for 30 years. So I guess he should know what he's doing by now.

Yeah those big city guys really know their stuff. So tell us where was the short. I assume it was in the AC circuit.

Yes it was in the A/C circuit and he replaced my battery ground cable, plus I need new connector plugs for my headlights. I never drive it at night though.
I guess that's because all the salt in the air where I live. Block from the Gulf.
