05 silverado lift options

1 Attachment(s)
I just bought a 05 silverado crew cab 4x4 z7. I want to lift it some but not do a all out lift kit. What about a leveling kit? Does messing with the torsion keys make it ride worse? Just wanting some opinions. Any guys that have pics of their truck with lift would be great. Thanks

I'd just crank the torsion bars to get the front up a few inches . That's what's most people do

Ok but does that make it ride worse? I've heard that it does

Re: 05 silverado lift options

yes it does, it also wears ball joints faster. i would do a 4' RCX lift and be done
here is my 02 burb with a 4" rcx truck lift and superlift super ride rear coils.....perfectly level control arms and smooth comfortable ride!!

Yeah that looks good. How much was that kit?

Re: 05 silverado lift options

this is the lift kit i used.
http://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspe...kit-258n2.html

i got it through my work from tri-state enterprises for $750
this will work for the pick up.

to make it work on the suburban you must also use spacers or the superlift soft ride rear coils here
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sja-c25r/overview/

the reason i went this route on my burb was i wanted 4" lift but all i could get is overpriced lifts with spacers.....rough country only makes 6" for the burb so i went with the truck and those coils. even though they are only 2.5" lift coils keep in mind the rear sits higher than the front already so they mated perfectly with the 4" lift
tires are 305/55/20 nitto terra grapplers which are just a hair over 33/12.50/20's

Is anybody running the rough country leveling kit? The one that comes with the shocks and everything? Im really thinking about going this rout. Its much cheaper than the lift kit. Any pics would be great.
