New! Choppin' Block Suspension to Lay Frame

New Product!

Wanted to post up new frame laying suspension for the C10's, from the guys over at The Choppin' Block. They have been in the industry a long time and are just about to release their new front and rear kits. We wanted to share, and will post updates and pricing as they are available. Pictures below are the early stages, but all will be available very soon.

We are a dealer for The Choppin' Block, so naturally, this will be something available from us at Pro Performance.

Front Kit Features:
- 100% bolt-in front application
- Narrowed track width and wheel centerline moved forward
- Uses C10 ball joints and spindles
- Rack / Pinion steering
- Lower control arms have alignment cams

Rear Kit Features:
- Use the kit as a short bed conversion
- All bolt-in with exception of axle brackets
- Can run larger than 10" wheel due to inboard bag setup
- Integrated air tank mounts off of the notch
- Adjustable rear cab mount, means easy to convert to Choppin Block body drop

Some early stage photos:

I saw this on instagram. Any idea of what the front kit will cost? What years will be available?

Pricing will be the following. Pre-orders will be taken in 2 weeks, and kits starting to ship in 3 weeks. As of now, 63-72 with 73-87 in the works right now and closely to follow in the next month.

Front: $2,500
Includes main crossmember, control arms, rack-n-pinion hardware, trans crossmember, shocks & steering linkage.

Rear: $2,500
Include complete back half (can be used to shorten a long bed frame), carrier bearing crossmember, frame crossmembers, rear cab mounts & shocks.

Right now, it's setup as a triangulated 4-link, but a parallel will be available as well, with a watts link.

No complete install pictures yet, but the instructions should be available soon..... which will of course have all this in there.

This blazer, from last year's SEMA, is running the front end kit.

No pictures yet of an actual chassis, since it's new and still getting more out there. We have sold a few kits, but they are going on customer's projects they are building. See if I can get some. In the mean time, here are some rendering of the complete kits.

Re: New! Choppin' Block Suspension to Lay Frame

Any idea how far the it pushes the engine up? Will a truck style intake or supercharger work on a ls swap with this kit?

Pro Performance 10-14-2015 03:02 PM

Re: New! Choppin' Block Suspension to Lay Frame

I am working on getting the exact measurement, but know the engine is placed as low as possible, and still clear when the truck is on the ground. Running the taller truck intake is not an issue, so I don't see why the supercharger would be a problem.

I will have some finished chassis pics of the front and rear installed soon. A SEMA truck is getting finished up with the full kit installed.

Got the images and formal pricing (with options) uploaded to the website.

If you buy a front and rear, we will ship to you for FREE.... and remember, lead times are less than 1 week. The 73-87 kits will start shipping early next month.

Re: New! Choppin' Block Suspension to Lay Frame

They are working to get figures for motor movement compared to stock. They did try and keep it as minimal as possible and sit the engine as low as possible in the cross member.

I did get some numbers for ride height though. The system is designed to lay out on a 30" tall tire, for both front and rear.
Ride height is about 5.5-6" with a 30" tall tire. If running a 28" tall, then this will drop to appx. 4.5-5".

Also a picture of a truck running front and rear kits that will be at SEMA this year, built by Justin Carrillo.

We got some deals this month on Choppin' Block. More and more kits are getting out there, and appreciate the support as we offer this newly released suspension. This is a nice kit with a very fast turn around time of appx. 1 week.

Working on getting those now for you. They can do mounts for the GMC 305 V6 engine, no problem.

Any news yet on measurement on how much engine moves forward and up? Any clearance issues with bell housing cab floor or shift linkage? Look FN rad:metal:

Re: New! Choppin' Block Suspension to Lay Frame

They are working to get the measurements soon. No issues with an automatic trans setup, but would need to run the high hump tunnel for proper clearance. In regards to a manual trans, I am not sure, as I don't believe they have set one up yet.

Some images we got back from a customer of the front kit installed. Should have images soon of the backhalf as well.
