Here's the reason why I am looking for a '70 grill- I don't like the looks of this.

Have you thought about matt black on the grill until the replacement is in place?

I'm thinking Matt black and remove either one of the Chevy Bowties and then it would look pretty good!

That's why I'm wanting to change my hood. I don't like the extra holes in the front of my 1969 hood.

Re: Did I missFront end Friday

Let's see, replace the hood. $$$

Or patch 2 small holes. ¢¢¢

Looks good!

Hinge mounting bolts are tearing loose as well. Hood won't close right.

What I would like to try to do is the hood mod like in post #139 and these.

I like the Blazer grill! Did you buy or make it? I could just put the marker/turn signal lights behind the grill. I made one similar to it for my '68 Skylark. You woudn't believe what some of them were going for when I crashed it. $500+ for a broken one, and NOS was "giving up tooth fillings" territory.

I have enough to do that I ain't gonna spend any time on that!

I went around the corner yesterday and the trans started to slip. Only one quart low. Must be the modulator (I really hope!) is leaking, because I don't see any puddles. Because of my recent hand surgeries, the wife is asking me to check on having the engine and trans rebuilt by shop(s). That's $$$$$ I really don't want to spend. We're at a point now that my wife says we should have bought a new truck. I'm checking the back yard for that money tree she must have planted. ;)

The previous pictures were from other old threads . http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=490151 and http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=244455 and http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=335664 I had made a grille for my step side years ago from a '69 surround that the center grille bar had a ding in it so I trimmed out the center and put 3/8" aluminum channel for the bars. the '67 t/s park lamps behind that.

Thanks! I like your grille, too. I looked on line and for about $200 I can get one like on the orange Blazer. But I could build one with 3/8" channel, as well. That would be much cheaper. Or go to Industrial Metal Supply and get stainless tubing like I used for the grille in my Skylark, at one time. Tubing is easier to bend than the channel.

Re: Did I missFront end Friday

Thanks. I built that for less than 25$ back then. Had to cut five notches in the back of the channel to bend it.

From my early days out of high school, I learned in a machine shop to fill tubes with sand and tape up the ends before bending, keeps the tubes from collapsing and holding their shape in the bend area.;)

Yup. That works on fuel and brake lines as well, but making sure all the sand is out is an absolute necessity.
