Thoughts/concerns with single stage paint
 

Rookie painter here trying to plan a driveway paint job. Leaning towards using a single stage lacquer. The color will be white and have a nice compressor to supply air. Is there a certain type of primer to use that can be painted over without using a sealer? Is there a universal primer that would be best to use while doing surface work? Is there a certain tip/size or spray gun to be used with this paint. Not looking for a show quality paint job but more of a budget build quality job. Is there a different simple/quality paint that is better for the money? Thanks in advance for your advice and comments.

Listen to me please , you want be happy with a laquer finish if it will be outside or driven.Laquer [if you can even find it] is very easy to spray almost to the point that you can't messit up and if you do just stop and sand out the mistake . Some degree the same is truefor base coat clear coat. The laquer needs a lot of maintinance in as far as buffing rubbing to a shine. Now there are some ready to spray products out there from different suppilers at places like Summit Jeg's and even parts stores but I have not used them but have heard good thing about them. Now for the primer I use high build and recommend it all the time. Look up some of my older post I have spoken of it often as well as the type of paint I use. hugger thanks for your advice i can see you are the guru of the paint section here and i thank you from everyone else that doesnt and the jegs/summit dupli color is what i was considering and thought that was a lacquer product shows what i know, and high build primer thanks again

Personally, I think anytime you spray a white paint job (not matter what type white paint) outdoors is really rolling the dice, no matter how easy it is.

Also most of all single stage paint dosnt hav uv protectant in it like a base/clear coat. It will fade fast in the sun.
