Yea I like the wheels,

You can see the reflection of the wood ceiling in one of the spokes on the wheel

Did not do very much today.

Cleaned the front half of the frame some more.

Just when you think It's pretty good, It aint.

Cleaned and de-greased the frame some moe today. No-body wants to see a pic on that.

Looks like I will be on frame clean up for another day or two, until I can get it clean enough for paint.

I also replaced the Fuel Line coming off the bottom of the Cab/Gas Tank, to the ridged line that rides inside the frame to the engine.

That Old fuel line was very soft. I had about 5 gallons left in the tank, and I did not get any on my face or eye or accidentally drink any fuel, or end up wearing a few gallons.

This was a good day

It went smooth, Nice.

Hey Zicc1835,

Frame looks good are you also using the KBS coating?

I will show some pics while I am doing the 4 part process on the Frame.

I am hoping that I will be able to start the painting process tomorrow, but I need to make sure that the frame is extremely clean, so that it will accept the paint.

Re: 67' C10 Build V8 Conversion & 700r4 trans

I have used POR-15 on a couple of other projects (2ea. Porsche 914's) it worked, i used it on the floor panels.

I have another 914, hopefully soon to get a 350 h.p. Chevy 350ci V8, and a 5sd manual trans, mid engine, and all up weight is 2200-lbs w/ V8 installed.

Our trucks weigh 3400-lbs.

TRUCK 3400lbs. / 350h.p. = 9.71 LBS per Horsepower
(under 10 Lbs. per H.P. is good)

71' 914 PORSCHE 2200lbs. / 350h.p. = 6.28 LBS per Horsepower, 350h.p.@ 5300rpm & 415 lb per ft torque @3700rpm, 4 wheel disc brakes stock, uses Regular Gas Mid engine for balance (Insurance not too bad)
(6 LBS per H.P. MUCH BETTER)

2012 Z06 Corvette 505 H.P. 427c.i. engine, Weight 3200lbs Premium gas Only, 3200Lbs / 505H.P. = 6.33 Lbs per H.P. Oh Yea $75K (Insurance is terrible $$$$$)

From the pics below you can see the white chalky look on the frame, this part of the etching process, and rust protection, The next two processes add the color (Satin Black)

I am still waiting for a 60 degree day to paint the frame.

I also need a 60 degree day to get the Heater Core Fiberglass Cover painted Black

I was checking the mounting of the Brake Booster.

Here are a couple of pics.

Re: 67' C10 Build V8 Conversion & 700r4 trans

I will have to take a picture tomorrow.

Today, I cut a 2ea. 4.00" hole's in the drive shaft cross member, then welded in a 4.00 diameter x .125wall thickness tubing, into the hole for support.

This will be my exhaust route for my lowered truck.

I decided to get this taken care of first, then paint my frame tomorrow.

Temp should be about 60 degrees and low moisture tomorrow.

A good day to paint. Hopefully.

Very, very nice. The exhaust through the cross member is fantastic. I am shortening my frame now and I intend to to the same before I put my truck back together.

Re: 67' C10 Build V8 Conversion & 700r4 trans

I need to make a Spacer Plate, and a Backing Plate, for the power steering pump.

This will beef up the frame, around the Power Steering pump area, so that the frame will not crack, or be damaged.
