Kickdown Cable
As title states it seems as I'm working out one problem I find another. In the below picture you can see it seems someone or PO cut my kickdown cable and I've just realized why sometimes it doesn't down shift....:crazy:
As I've never installed one and searched through the forums it seems a simple process. Where would you guys recommend getting one? Do you guys have pics of the full setup on where it connects to on the carb? Since all we have is one image to see, sounds like you need to drop the pan, replace the cable, get a stand alone cable bracket that bolts to the two rear manifold bolts or the left rear bolt on the carb.

Thanks demian and steeve, I'll try and find a set and install em. Might take some time but will update along the way.

Luckily the cable was still connected in the cut off portion so I didn't have to drop the pan, which made the install easier. The hardest part was getting the bolt back into the hole due to the weird angle it's at and my large hands getting in the way.

Yeah, I know about big mitts in that small space. :lol:
I can't tell from the pic you posted if you have the necessary bracket. If it isn't hooked up right, it won't kill a 350 like it would a 200(R4) or a 700(4R), but go easy until we see a good pic. Or go on youtube and look up how to adjust a 350 turbohydramatic detent cable. |
