Flip kit for 76 2wd k5

Hey everyone. Lowered k5 info seems to be a bit harder to find.

I halve a belltech flip kit on the way for my 76 k5 2wd, but I wanna clarify how to achieve a 6" drop. I ordered a 1.75" lift shackle cause I believe the 6" flip actually drops 8" for blazers correct?

People talk about having springs rear arched or different springs all together?

Yes a flip kit on a blazer, lowers the rear more than on a pickup.
This is kind of a true statement.
I think it just puts the rear axle closer to the frame rails, because the blazer frame is different than the trucks.
It will also put the center section of the rearend really close to the floor.
There are companies now making blazer c-notches.
I recommend this.

A lift shackle would probably work.
I'd like to see the one you bought.

Another option is to run a 4x4 rear spring hanger with your flip kit.
(they are longer than the 2wd version)
But these would have to be found used at a junk yard.
And they are riveted on just like the trucks leaf spring hangers.

Had a standard flip on my blazer. Sat too low and hit the frame on every bump just about. Installed a c notch but also ended up having my leafs re-arched 1". So total drop in the rear was 5" after that.

Nice Blazer.
I did a flip combined with 4x4 rear hangers and a 1/2" lowering block. The flip by itself was too low.

I thought a block after an axle flip will lower the rear end more? or was it needed because the 4x4 rear hangers raised it up too much?

Correct. The 4x4 rear hangers were installed to lessen the amount of lowering from the axle flip alone. After doing the entire hanger swap and flip I felt there was too much of a nose down rake so I added the small blocks to lower the rear (essentially raising the axle) 1/2".

Do you have a part number for the hangers you used?

I don't, sorry. They are just 4x4 rear spring hangers for 73-87 K5 or K10.
Here is a thread where I show what I did in the rear of the Jimmy above. Starts on page 2.

What size wheels are you running? Staggered? Backspacing? What size and brand of tires?
Any outside side shots?
