Gsi or pb fab crossmember kits?

Just starting my first c10 build. And was wondering what front kits people would recommend for my 66. Best value for money? I am from Australia so hard to find people who have kits I can look at. Thanks for your help in advanced.

Cheers :chevy:

Porterbuilt has nice stuff for sure (I've purchased 3 front Dropmembers, a rear frame rail kit, & 1" forward lower control arms. Everything was top quality.

I've seen GSI's stuff on display @ our annual Texas C10's in the Park show. It looked every bit of quality constructed as PB parts but I've never had personal experience w/their parts or installing their parts. The modular design & construction should put them on a similar playing field.

I recommend contacting each source w/a list of info that you'd like answers for & go from there.

Good luck.

So what is the overall plan for the truck? Coil over or air and how low do you want to go? You are only asking about the front and that is just half the package.

I have PB tubular arms...that being said i would go with other brands if i had to do it over(long wait for parts, being sent the wrong parts, lack of instructions). I would contact board vendor AZProPerformance and see what he recommends .

Since you're in Australia I'd also recommend going with GSI or something beside porterbuilt since you'll endure extra frustrations trying to deal with them from the other side of the planet lol.

So far Porterbuilt has been one of the more helpful and professional companies I’ve dealt with. Unsure what the “frustrations” comment above refers to. Instructions are downloadable on their website fyi. No experience with GSI.

What? Sorry the truth is hard to hear. Yes they make great stuff, they stand by their product an will make it right. Its still frustrating when parts are wrong, missing or left out of the shipment. In my experience it was nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone, email was the best option to contact them. Directions? I got two measurements an some pictures. Do a forum search an you'll see it over an over. I wouldn't want to deal with that from Australia, it was bad enough from across the country....

As mentioned contact AZ Pro Performance, Travis an Nick will take care of you....

Have you considered or seen Choppin' Block? Just wanted to throw out another option that I think is well worth looking at. Ease of installation, short turn around time, great suspension geometry, eccentric alignment, etc.

We would be glad to help you in any way, and can put together a package for you, based on your goals with the truck. We have a handful of AUS customers.

Feel free to contact us any time.

Thanks for the replies,
I am going to run air ride. I already have the pb rear kit but I bought it from someone in Australia who had run out of money to finish there truck. I've seen chopping blocks, pb and gsi kits. pb is a fair bit more expensive compared to Gsi. But unsure on chopping blocks. i am looking for the best value for money kit.

cheers

Re: Gsi or pb fab crossmember kits?

I completely understand, and good to do research, since the cheapest isn't always the best solution. Choppin Block has been in the air ride game for years, but only recently started emerging more as their own brand of suspension parts. They even have a lifetime warranty on all their parts they make.

I would just review all the features each kit has, wait time, quality of construction, etc.

Re: Gsi or pb fab crossmember kits?

I have emailed and left several messages for portebuilt to contact me because I was interested in purchasing a dropmember and control arms. I never received one call back,I don't want to do business with a company like that. I contacted GSI and they answered all my questions and sent me tons of info, so I went with GSI.:chevy:

GSI is the way to go. The parts are so well made and bad ass welds

I have emailed GSIM 2 times with questions about their frame stiffener. Both times I got a response that someone with tech would get back with me. They never did. I'm gonna corner them at "C10 in the Park" this weekend. In the meantime the frame stiffener went from $750.00 to $1000.00. that sucks, maybe I'll ***** at them and then make my own.

I’ve got pretty much a full Porterbuilt chassis and have been real happy with them. Any question I’ve had Nate has gotten back to me quickly via email, even on Sunday evening. Dave used to be tough to get ahold of but I don’t think he’s there anymore.

I’ve met the guys as GSI and have seen their product. Great guys and look to be a great product. Don’t think you can go wrong with either.
