3/4 ton Shear Type Cab Mounts
3 Attachment(s)
I recently got my cab mounts rebuilt by Steele Rubber Products in North Carolina. The quality of the rebuild is amazing. I thought I would post this thread for anyone who wants to keep their original shear type cab mounts. I would recommend getting a second set of cab mounts to have sent out to be rebuilt so you can still use your truck.

What did they cost you?

About how long did the whole process take? Was the cab height correct when installed? Looks good!

Did they come back to you re-painted black like that?
Any tips for removing the original cab mount rivets? I'm told they are a bear to drill out. Would love to hear how others have gotten them out cleanly without damaging the paint on the frame. |

I grinded my heads off and then just punched them out.

What did you use for bolts when you re-installed? Did the rear cab height come out correct? I mean, did the body lines between the cab and box line up? Thanks.

Just wondering if you ever got your new cab mounts installed and how it came out.

Re: 3/4 ton Shear Type Cab Mounts
I'm wondering what size bolts others have used to bolt the cab mounts back to the frame. The original holes (which, obviously, contained rivets) are larger than 3/8" but smaller than 7/16" in diameter. Apparently not a standard size hole. What have others used for bolts?
