Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

Thanks ChevyBoy.

Yea got some updates, got the front guards and doors in final primer. Just got to finish prime the bonnet/hood. Then do the cab and off to paint.

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/...ps481102bb.jpg

BUT the big update is the motor STARTED :)

Over the weekend i hooked up all the starter motor etc and got it ready to fireup, biggest worry i had was the fuel lines, the flaring on the 3/8 steel tube was hard to get perfect.

Pushed all the fuel through the lines with compressed are so the starter didn't have to do to much work. Had one small leak but just had to nip it up.

Bit of fuel in the barrel and bang first kick started and sounds amazing. after running it for about 2 minutes the alternator *&%^ itself and burst into smoke. So this weekend is going to be round 2 and i will take a video to upload now i know everything is good. My lead protectors did not work at all so got a refund on them and going to buy new MSD leads and re make them another way.

And one thing i did realise is i better start saving to fill this thing up with fuel every few KM the 750cfm double pumper carb sucks it down hard thats for sure.

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

Still no video. Im trying to get a hold of a good camera, not just my phone. capture the sound.

Sorted out my lead problems and fitted and made new MSD leads.

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3291aae0.jpg

Got the cab 70% blasted just not some of the parts i had already worked on.

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/...ps424320aa.jpg

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3abe9e44.jpg

Got a coat of primer surfacer on after hours of sanding and washing after being blasted. Getting stuff blasted seems easy but there is alot of prep after so you don't have any problems later.

I Have been laying a coat of this stuff under all my panels. I have heard nothing but amazing stuff about it. Just rub down with 180 and body work over the top.

http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3bfffc62.jpg

Dont think i have posted these before. but i made access doors on both sides to the battery and air gear, just incase of any problems :( and if the battery dies and the car airs out i wont be able to get the the battery.

been super busy getting stuck in to the end of the body work.

The insides and door frames were very very time consuming. :banghead:

fixed some small rust issues also.

Something abit different i been working on. Picked up this bike for a steal, i ride motorcross and always wanted to get my road licence. So for the price i got this for i thought i would do it up abit and get my licence for a sunday cruiser untill my truck is finished.

And also have my first go at finish painting.

How i bought it.
