55-66 rear fender manufacturers

I have a 58 stepside and need a couple rear fenders. Who makes the best quality/fit steel rear fenders?
I see AMD and Classic Parts make them, but not sure of a quality source. Also fount "Fixmyrust" on Ebay as a supplier.
Any advice would be great.

I recently purchased a set of AMD rear fenders for my '58 build, although they seem a little lighter gauge than the originals, the contours look pretty good.

I called Mar-k and ordered the rest of the bed. They said they do not sell fenders.

3 Attachment(s)
oh no my bad... I got my stuff through premier street rods, I was very impressed with the fact I used oversized bolts (only to hold everything as close as I could get it for fit) and all but 2 on each side fit without doing anything, very mild reworking those 4 holes. And It's a Mar-K bed...

In the past, I ordered replacement fenders from Classic Parts, but was told many of the aftermarket parts are made in the same location (overseas) and shipped out to the various aftermarket sellers. You may find good repops but if you can, reuse or buy originals whenever possible. My .02 worth

Most are made by the same manufacturer and just rebranded in seperate boxes. I would try to buy them as close to home as possible so if you have to return them due to poor fit it is more convenient. Most are are in some small town in California called Cheena , or maybe it China or Sheena.

I have a customer buy an all used front end from a 66 Chevy pickup after he tried to make the repo China fenders fit , could not, took to body shop and they could not make it fit. The problem was return shipping was a killer and he still did not have a fender that would work. Biggest problem was where the fender met the grill support. He was pissed , the vendor was pissed , the body shop was pissed , luckily he paid with a credit card and was able to return

Here is a good article on making a 55-57 Chevy Pickup fender.

Kind of sad when you paid $400 plus shipping for a fender . When you ask the vendor the common response is . Hmm , we haven't had any problem fitting ours . Yah sure.

Yep, do ANYTHING to keep the originals.

I heard the front fenders are a huge pain to fit. I am only doing the rears and it is much easier since the body lines don't meet up.
I totally agree about keeping the originals. I don't have a bed and just ordered the Mar-k box and need the REAR fenders. I'm going to assume there is not an american manufacturer of these rear fenders?

LMC seems to have good pricing. Mar-k recommended them to me.

I got mine off ebay..says triplus on box...all markngs on the box are identical to another box with running boards that says keyparts..and agree..its much easier to line up rears than fronts. .

I went with Mar-K bed and LMC fenders. I will update on fit and finish.

The same guy on you tube that shows how to cut the front fenders also has a video on how pie cut the repo step fit the rear fender .

I have also been told to heavily undercoat the repo fenders before driving if you have show paint. A rock thrown from the tire will star ding the paint from the inside. The undercoating (thicker the better) will help dampen some of the shock.

Patching the rusted areas of the original steps would have been easier...
