Yup, friends and I had 3-4 kicking around, it came from one of those two. All I did was swap my odo into it, add the LEDs, and paint over PRND321 & Apply Brake to Shift from Park.

Just about every other day is a fill-up and ~250 miles on the trip.

Love the led look! Was it all that hard to change out?

Hey, that is an amazing truck that you got there. I got the same NV4500 transmission in my 1972 GMC C30 but nobody on this forum (nor Google himself :-() was able to tell me what PTO will work on the 1996 NV4500. Is there any way you can check the PTO part number on your truck? Please :-)

Thank you. I just used this and found a few. https://www.chelseaptoapps.com/Home/Configuration Go there, click North America, choose New Venture and which version of the 4500 you have, it'll list a few.

I've had the pleasure of talking with both of them on multiple occasions. Carl owns/runs Jantz Engineering near where I used to live & work, I had him machine the upper and lower ball joint tapers in a set of GMT-800 knuckles for me to the correct diameter for the -400 ball joints. During the brake upgrade I installed new upper and lower ball joints, lower control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, and sway bar end links.

Good-bye...

What size rotors did you end up with?
Aren't the stock GMT 400's ones around 12"?

Stock front rotor on a DRW truck is GM: 12549137, AC Delco: #177-804
What I put on was the rotor that came with those suspension parts off of a 2000 K2500 (GMT-800) and it is GM: 15942195, AC Delco: #177-1038

Stock: 12.5 in x 1.535 in
Current: 12.795 in x 1.5 in

When I need to replace the front brakes I will likely move to the GMT-800 DRW front rotors, P/N's: 15733625/#177-878 which are the exact same dimensions as current. Where they differ is in the thickness of the wear surface, the DRW ones are much thicker. Visually the region of the rotor where the vanes are is half as wide.

I am curious how the tie rod was adapted. I am gathering parts to do this on my 99. The GMT800 uses a smaller tie rod taper than the GMT400. Did you get a different outer tie rod or use an adapter?

Thanks for the PM. I gonna post this for reference. 99-00 GMT800 knuckles have a different tie rod taper than 01-07. It is very hard to locate a set of used 99-00 knuckles, and they are superseded to the later ones by gm. I already have a set of 01-07 knuckles.

I will most likely have a GMT400 outer tie rod shortened and machined to M14, and use a standard 01-07 outer tie rod.

When I do this, I will post a build thread and parts used.

Just found this looking for cab swap ideas. I have a 98 k2500 and my only thing I'd the wiring. The 98 is a 6.5 TD and my parts 97 k1500 is a 5.7L. how did you go about the wiring?

Swapped all of my wiring into the donor cab. Pulled both dashes, set them on sawhorses, removed the ducting and parts I needed to give me access to the harness and swapped them.

Awesome. So it separates then under the dash somewhere? I'm familiar with the 73-87 wiring just not anything this new.
