$70 plus Harbor Freight...what to get?

I got some gift cards for my birthday yesterday to HF and am not sure what to get. My garage is anything but stocked to the brim with tools that I need to work on my truck, so what would you guys get? I know it's hard to suggest being you don't know what I do and don't have but what would you get?

A slide hammer.
I just picked one up at HF last week. In a steel box with lots of attachments for $44. I'm not usually impressed with HF quality, but this thing is nice.

just go to your nearest HF store and walk thru ... you'll have NO problem spending $70 there.

Shane is right, it is easy to do. Personally I try to stay away from things that might cause injury if they were to break, but there are plenty of things to spend some money on.

You can't go wrong with jack stands. Wait until they go on sale though.

Always watch their sale stuff. And like karlbenz said. Their ad usually has a 20% off a single item. That can be a great offer if you use it right. You can get a nice tool cart/box there for real reasonable too.

i can easily spend 70 bucks in about 10 min in there lol. $8 cut off wheel works great. clamps, jackstands, pliers..etc. basic tools like that to start off with

I picked up that slide hammer like you suggested, I know I need it as I'll be doing my own body work...but I have zero clue on how to use it.

Re: $70 plus Harbor Freight...what to get?

for a slide hammer to work, you will have to drill holes in the dent you are trying to pull, unless you tack weld nails to the panel. That's why most say to get the stud welder and slide hammer combo. With it, you don't need to drill holes, yet just use the stud welder to weld studs to the metal and use the slide hammer to pull on the studs. My slide hammer was useless in the kit, and I welded on a set of vice grips to hang onto the studs while pulling on them. Trevor

A creeper stool would be a good investment too if you don't have one. They are a back (& knee) saver.

The horse shoes that break in half when you get a dead ringer.
Yep seen it happen.
Tap or bang them together they don't "ding" like they should.
Same kind of metal the blue 5 or 6" vices are made from.

The 1/2" drive impact sockets are a good buy.

Jack stands are good, they have the taller 12K ones
I bought a stud welder for pulling dents out of the replacement box for my k10.
Works very good for home shop for $100.00
