inner fenderwells... can i please toss them?
mine are a little ugly and I'd like to get a cooler engine bay and the biggest reason I want to get rid of them is because I plan on bagging the truck... it would be great if I could get rid of them but I still kinda wanna travel on gravel without sandblasting my engine bay. anyone here get rid of them have comments?

never tried it, but I bet it'd be trouble, especially when it rained. You'd be cracking exhaust manifolds like crazy
I'm tossing mine too, but i'll get some fabbed up down the road, truck isn't even close to roadworthy
Mine have been out for 3 years. I don't purposely drive in bad weather, but the times that I do, a quick hosedown after I get home keeps things relatively clean.
You dry weather guys live in a different world. I'd never even think about getting rid of my inner fenders. In fact, I just installed my new posder coated inner fenders today. Good luck, Scott
Of course that was "powder coated" - damn band aids on the fingers.
I would think you'd loose a bit of strength in the front end with those gone.
Mine are out. Never had problems in Houston, even during monsoon season. But winter road salt in Illinois destroys my engine bay every year. I will get fiberglass ones or move back to Houston.
Just flat dumb thing to do in my opinion. Plus, looks stupider than hell-o.New ones just aren't that expensive, and they will last for another 35 years. Just another mans opinion though.

I think you're asking for trouble if you drive on gravel or sand very often. All that dust and dirt would make a mess out of that cool engine bay you're after. I've been wrestling with the same thought of deleting mine, has anyone ever modified theirs to provide more tire clearance for aggressive lowering? If so I'de sure like to see pics. Thanks...Stroker

I dont have any inners in the longhorn,& will say that the eng compartment picks up a lot of dust. For a daily driver, I dont think I would consider running without the inners......mine has a tilt front end, so there werent too many options. Good luck, crazyL:burnout:

okay, i'll put something between the headers and the road I guess. hopefully aluminum.
