Cabin filter

Does a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 have a cabin air filter. I have not been able to find it. It is not in the normal place my 03 Tahoe is in.

That's strange my 2001 Sierra has one and so does my 2015. That being said I don't think my 2008 had one.

Re: Cabin filter

I will look to see if my 2003 avalanche has one tomorrow. i wonder, since all of my trucks are work trucks with cloth interiors, i wonder if the cabin air filter was maybe only installed on the higher end trucks? my avalanche is leather interior with more bells and whistles than any of my trucks. i will report back tomorrow if i can remember to look.

so back to the cabin air filters that I never knew I had.. picked up the two piece Wix 24805 set and went to it.. I found three 7mm coarse trim screws, one little booger directly over the hump.. not impossible but a little tight to access.. removed these three and filter cover was right there.. one 5.5mm gold colored trim screw holding the forward edge and it drops right out.. and boy was it dirty in there.. ran the fan on high to clear out the rest of the danglers, and installed the Wix filters.. they fit nice a snug and the cover has a gentle little tension on the edge gaskets so it seems to create a good seal.. and just before re-installing the kick panel, I noticed a little note from the factory 'Dear Willie,' in yellow china marker used throughout the assembly process..
