1970 C20 4x4 brake help

Hi folks. I just bought a1970 Chevy C20 4x4 that has drum drum brakes with no power booster. I want to keep the drums but would like a power booster for drum drum. Can I go to the parts store and get the power booster and master cylinder and just bolt on or are there other parts I need, brackets etc.
thanks Paul

Hello and welcome. I’m no expert but think you will probably need the brackets between booster and firewall. Then also correct linkage between booster and brake pedal. I’ve never added power brakes to front drum setup before but know it’s possible. I have seen trucks setup from factory like that. If you can post pictures of your brake setup now on firewall, that will help the guys on here help you.

I have a '72 C25 but the chassis from a '69 C30 that ran factory drum/drum vacuum brakes. Everything is the same. Just use the whole bracket, booster and MC and use your distribution block in lieu of a prop valve.

I actually left the front drums on mine when I swapped the frame out about 10 years ago because I was warping rotors whenever I pulled heavy trailers. I haven't had that problem since.
