TH400/NP208 drivetrain fitment question

So, I have a lead on a rebuilt turbo 400 with a 208 case with a gear vendors attached to it. Is there any real fitment issues, or would this be a headache of sorts.

Also, is this combo something that works well together? I had planned on doing a 700r4 at some point anyway to obtain the OD. This is for a 72 1/2 ton 4x4. Thanks

Re: drivetrain fitment question

My only complaint with the GV is you can't run it in 4wd. It will leave you with a shorter drive shaft but I think that would only be an issue with a K5.

You may have to adjust your crossmember but it should bolt up with minimal fuss. (I have not done it)

Do a search on "Gear Vendors overdrive". There have been some posts in the past that may help. Also, you may be able to message the members that have used them before to get their thoughts on it.

i would wonder, and I don't know the answer to this, but wouldn't the GV hanging off the back of the t case be very close to or actually cause interference with the trailing arm crossmember?

IDK but the OP's truck is 4x4 so it's leaf spring.

I'll trade you a balanced correct length drive shaft for the gear vendor when you swap in the 4-speed...;)

Well, I never thought about the 4 wheel drive issue. I think I will just go with an overdrive transmission. Thanks for the responses.
