Ok I have bought my truck and am in the process of building the 9 inch for the rear, got the 15x14s with 15.5s ready, all the 4/6 lowering parts shipping and working on the 4 wheel disc conversion. Here is the start of my build thread for the" ole 69er", stay tuned for pics.:sumo::chevy:

Ok so bare with me, these are duplicate pics from my first post but wanted to start off with the truck bone stock. Other than that the truck has only a 1 inch spot of rust on the whole thing and has been owned for 30 years by the same folks.Anyway here is the start of my thread and hope to bring more pics as soon as I can

Couple of more starter pictures, the tailgate with donor scrap iron for the bumper, the LED tail lights new sidemarker lights and the billet wheel with bowtie horn button new glove box and a new dashpad not pictured.

By the way the other tire in the pic is for my good buddys prostreet truck, mines the one on the right

Man you have don a heck of a job, I like it and what you are doing. I hope mine turns out good and I am sure yours will as well, Ill keep watching yours and look forward to seeing more. Thnks for the reply on my post as well

We just got a UPS load to the tune of 8 boxes...Wooohooo... Gonna get some pics as soon as we can, can only work on it a little at a time but gonna be sweet. Many thanks go out to my Buddy Azdude64 for all the help otherwise known as Duuuuuuude!!!!

On the powerplant, yea eventually I want to build a 502 for it, but Really I just want something to goof around on the street and go to the Saturday night car shows or something. On the size of the meats lol yea, The one on the left is my buddy Alans truck and the one on the right is mine. The one on the lift is an 18.5 and right is a 15.5, Alot less difference than I thought, may just stay with the 15.5 never know!!. Thanks for the replys yall

Getting more parts inventory built up, shouldnt be to much longer before the build gets started. Theres more just didnt get pictures, front and rear calipers on the way and next week ordering the booster master cylinder combo, brakelines, Ebrake cables and rubber lines to finish the brakes up. (9 inch in the process of being built and readied as well so when we get all the parts, should come together real nice, cant wait!!!:metal::hot:

Pictured someone kindly photo shopped of my truck dropped and another of the front brake hub, rotor, and caliper setup my buddys setting up for me to put on the ole 69er!!:metal::chevy:

Well not much goin on yet, still collecting parts. Got all new stainless steel brake lines a a new booster mastercylinder combo finally got the front wheels and tires and some other odds and ends. My buddy Alan picked up this set of used tubs to use with the ones on the truck to cut and widen them to fit the 29x15.5s on the back. Just waitin on the rearend to be finished so we can do all the measurments for the back suspension. Boy now I see why they say take your budget and timeline and triple it, when you want to do things it seems to take forever to get it done. But with my buddy Alan we are gonna get it done soon as we can and I know itll be done right, I just have to remember to have patience. Got the tubs for 60 bucks for both, not bad just gonna have to dolly them to straighten out some dents and dings and itll be all good and OE stuff so its worth it. picked me up some peep mirrors and a few other things so when it gets back here to texas Ill still have some things to do. Anyway sorry I dont have much to report but when we can we will get more done and send in some pics. "patience grasshopper patience" LOL:lol:

I like the parts you've collected so far. Who makes the brakes you're using? I noticed the hubs on your spindles and the rotor looks like it might be Wilwood, but the caliper looks more like a factory type.

Yea, thats the color it was when I bought. As for the brakes, the hubs and rotors are what my buddy had so I bought them from him not sure the brand, if I had to guess, yea willwood and the calipers are CPP calipers I bought so we are kinda just using what I have for now and will upgrade later. I am converting the whole thing from disc to drum so had to buy the whole smash, new stainless lines and all!!

Well, started the tear down today and goin from leaf to trailing arms, 12 bolt to 9 inch, 4 wheel drum to 4 wheel disc all with the much appreciated help from my buddy Azdude64. Shes gonna look good when shes done and once I get rid of the blue lol! Just stuck the tire under the bed for a pre done pic! :metal:

A little more headway, got the drop spindles and springs in for 4 inches of drop in the front , working on the passenger side now, got the rear shock mounts back on today as well !!:chevy:
