1997 engine
 
I have 1997 Tahoe engine in my truck. what gap do I use for it.. I changed the intake to adapt a carb and I have a regular HEI. 1406 carb..

Gap em at 40 and see how they look after a 1000 miles. Plug will tell you if they are good.

that's what I gap them now but I read they originally gap for 60.

Here is the issue im having
as my torq convertor locks up its start to shake bad and sound like im running on 6 cylinders I give hit the gas and it shakes even worse bogs a bit but it feels like I have no power.. I change wires and plugs so far. im thinking about changing the dizzy and see if that helps

I don't know what you are talking about when you say you are thinking about changing the 'dizzy'. Did this suddenly start or progressively get worse? Did you look at the distributor cap? It could be that. At least have a look at it. I hope you find out what the deal is.

Could be two things.
Lack of timing and/or too much fuel pressure.

Did you install the melonized gear on your distributor? Are you running a stock coil? What is your timing set at?
