Any feedback on these headlights?
I want to try these on my 68 C10. Has anyone used this exact light for their truck?

Re: Any feedback on these headlights?
I haven't used them, but after reading the reviews I'm impressed. I was already planning on putting in headlight relays; I might just upgrade to these lights as well. I want to see better but keep the original look.

Before any other upgrade of lights I suggest the relay kit first. It will amaze you at how well it will work with your regular lights. But adding the H-4 bulbs and housing is a great addition too!:chevy:

You might also check into Cibie. Similar, but a little more expensive. I used Hella on my motorcycle and Cibie on the C10. I like the Cibie better. Either would be a big improvement over a sealed beam, but the Hellas don't seem to be as sharp, at least to my eyes.

The important thing is not to over drive your headlight's reach.

FWIW I have Jeep Wrangler headlights any 1972 K10. Bought them as take-outs from a 4x4 shop that swapped them for a customer to LED's.... Cheap...I have a relay set-up as well, bought conversion harness's on the auction site for $4.99 ea,,

Interested! I rarely drive my truck at night anymore. But this could save my life one day. And maybe someone else's.

Re: Any feedback on these headlights?
I have not run that exact headlight but I have the Euro sister to that in my Burban and have run them in other cars for years.
http://www.bjsoffroad.com/Hella-Euro...amp_p_980.html I have been very satisfied with them. Use quality bulbs and you won't be disappointed. One thing though is that back of the light is larger than stock and you will have to enlarge the hole in the core support to get the light to fit with the dust cover over the bulb socket. I have a short write up on page 5 of my WMB thread (Link below) I hope this helps. |

That and having good ground connections will do wonders for even stock bulbs. |
Re: Any feedback on these headlights?
Thanks, I red about 12 different threads and they confused me-these are great.

Re: Any feedback on these headlights?
relay kit and the Hella E codes and you'll swear you're driving a different truck.
REAL German-made glass housings and lenses - not chinese-made plastic. They are THE cat's balls of headlights. No mods to my '67 radiator support to use these lights. Remove old sealed beams, installed Hella housing. Plug and play. I bought mine from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
Re: Any feedback on these headlights?
Hella, Bosch, Carello, Cibie, Lucas, etc. European made H4 headlights are the real deal and will be far superior to anything plastic or sealed beam. My favorites are vintage Cibie followed by Bosch and Hella. Aiming them properly is also really important. If you want to run higher rated bulbs our lights switches have circuit breakers that will trip. Relays are must at that time.

I also run the Jeep Wrangler head lights. Picked them up on eBay $40 just look around. One of the best things I did. They have a good cut off. Funny thing is they work better than the one on my Wrangler.

Re: Any feedback on these headlights?
Some interesting reading at "daniel stern lighting". He gets into the bulbs and i followed his suggestions with cibie's and a shielded low/high bulb and very happy with the results. I did cibie's in the late 70's and knew what i wanted. I e-mailed him with the light beam description of the low beam being wide, lighting both ditches with the hockey stick hook up the passenger's side ditch, and high beam being 2 pencil beams that really lit up the road a long ways away. He supplied me with e code cibie's and believe it or not 55/60 watt shielded bulbs that are fantastic. I told him i ran a 100 watt high beam in the 70's and he was so confident on these 55/60 watt bulbs he said he would refund me if i was disappointed. I did pay near retail but his help was the best and my opinion is my night time vision is well worth a one stop shop with experience.

I think my headlights are from a 2010 or so wrangler. Call a 4x4 shop as they do lot's of LED swaps on these jeeps and usually keep the take outs lights. Don't forget the relays.. |
Re: Any feedback on these headlights?
Hella is quality. The nice thing about the Hellas shown is they don't stand out as newfangled modern bulbs. Those other upgrade bulbs are fine if you want your headlight bulbs to be the focus, but modern light that doesn't wave a flag is just classy.
