Have you ever wonder how many original 2wd blazers and Jimmys are still out there? If you happen to be lucky enough to have one of the 985 made please post your user name and last 5 or 6 of vin (so we don't get duplicates). Here is a chart of how to tell if you have an original 2wd blazer or Jimmy.

Re: 1970 original 2wd blazer/Jimmys still Alive
Anybody know what designated the Custom badge being on the Jimmy vs. not?
Was it the trim package? I have an original (worn) paint 70 Jimmy with trim and there was no Custom badge above the handle. |

I would love see pic's of yours, you don't come across factory painted '70 2 wheel Jimmy's to often, lol I have people tell about them and usually they have been repaint or a different year. :( |

The inner rear panels above wheel wells = not on the one I have. It was bare bones with a rubber mat and utility seats. Previous owner swapped that for a newer model bench.
It isn't a factory 2wd - it is a 4wd converted by the previous owner. I have been working on it when my schedule allows which hasn't been much since I got it. I have a host of little things to take care of on it. I should really start a project build thread. Here is a sneak peak of the light wet sanding I did to remove the top coat of black paint I did to get back to factory 70 Dark Blue. I have since found a factory matching paint cowl and swapped it on so it is all one color now. |

Cool looking 70 2WD's. My dream, 70 2WD, 6 cylinder 3 on tree. I can dream, can't I?
