My '53 project - Dime time
Well I needed this project like I needed another hole in the head. I've been keeping an eye on my great grandfathers '53 for some time now. Knew the guy who had it and was only going to use it for parts for his '53. Over a year ago I offered to find him the parts he needed for his to keep the family one whole, and he was cool with that. The other day he showed up asking about my side business and said there was another project. So I asked how much for the both 53's and the s-10 frame he had and was shocked when he said $1500 for all. Not the best time for me but couldn't pass them up. Here's the pics. The green one is in the better truck, but the black one was in the family.

Re: My '53 project - Dime time
please take CLR to that green truck and show us the patina paint underneath. PLEASE PLEASE

Re: My '53 project - Dime time
It's nice when family comes home ....
I was thinking the same thing about CLR on the green one. I saw a thread some where about a guy using CLR on a surface rust vehicle and was amazed with the outcome |
Re: My '53 project - Dime time
GRIMSS, The coloring of the green one is great. It's looks like it is in great shape for its age.

Re: My '53 project - Dime time
I would almost guarantee there is green paint under all that surface rust that is begging to come out.

Re: My '53 project - Dime time
Nothing too new on this project. Been too cold and our shop has been full of tractors getting major work done. I did pull out an original Fulton visor that I saved from the scrapers on my great grandparents farm. By the way it was setup It must have been on a car. I've found online a copy of the original Fulton sunshield assembly manual and hope to have it setup right for a truck now.
