Replacement distributor

Looking for a new distributor for our 92 454. Got a random stalling issue so we want to replace the fuel pump and distributor.

Already ordered the vortec fuel pump.

Everyone recommends the GM performance 1103952 but the price on that has skyrocketed, and jegs says no estimated ship date. Maybe there is a new part number?

Jegs has their own distributor- 40006- which looks like plug and play for the tbi anyone tried it?

Why wouldn't this work?

I'm sure it would, but the jegs is $60 cheaper.

I guess maybe the quesiton I should have asked was- is there a newer GM performance part number? Would have preferred to sick with that of the delphi, but they seem to not be available anymore. even if jegs or summit lists them, they have ship dates months away, or are crazy expensive

$60 isn't enough for me to get excited about....I like Summit

Sorry the only time I shop price is for the same exact part. In this case I wouldn't care what the price is at Jegs cause I have a Summit brand billet distributor to replace the POS OEM plastic distributor in 5.7 Vortecs and it has been great for well over 100K miles.

Re: Replacement distributor

I highly doubt they are the same distributor. The Jeg's one doesn't list the drive gear as melonized, which adds to the cost. Also, the internal components like the pickup and the module are probably not the quality of the Summit one.

I run the Summit one in my Yukon and it's been perfect from day one.

Re: Replacement distributor

Well I got news for all the summit nut swingers in this thread.

I bought and installed that jegs distributor- installed today actually. Let me say the fit and finish is as good as the MSDs and other more expensive distributors I’ve used in the past. Works perfect.
