Shaved firewall master cylinder location
 

I picked up a cab that has the firewall smoothed out. I don't really wanna cut any holes back in it plus the reinforcement flange piece was removed. My question is what r my options to relocate the master and booster? They also shaved the wire harness/ fuse box hole and the heater box. Was thinking of going with vintage air for heat and a/c. That doesn't use the factory heater motor does it ?

Try searching under dash master cylinder, there are a lot of options.

I was thinking under the dash as well. I think VA operates independently of OE equipment although i could be wrong...

Hey Garagely,you still have to cut holes for the heater hoses and air hoses,no they don't use a factory heater motor.
I have a southern air kit that I bought for my 4 door and did not use.

Yeah most aftermarket ac systems are under the dash you just gotta drill 2 or 4 holes max which you can hide under the fender if you want.Page 69 http://www.scottshotrods.com/online-catalog/ and http://www.rrs-online.com.au/stealth...e-booster.html

Speaking from the street rod side of things go with the Vintage air setup. Southern rod parts has some cheesy products at times and you never know exactly what you are going to get in my past experiences. As far as the heater hose/ac lines, install a bulkhead on the firewall instead of running the lines through the firewall. It will look better and be a bit easier as far repair work later on. As far as hiding the master under the dash or under the truck, I have a couple of cars with the master under the vehicle, it is a pita to deal with at times and you will have to use a generic pedal setup and fit it to your truck. You also will have to add residual valves in line to keep the air from entering the wheel cylinders and calipers. Hiding the master under the dash sounds like a good idea if you can bend well enough to add fluid with out spilling it all over your carpet and you should think about how much room under the dash one of those setups take up. I have built a lot of cars in the last 40 years and sometimes what sounds cool ends up being one of the worst ideas. Just my 2 cents, it is your truck do what you want.

Also keep in mind that the Vintage Air unit takes up dang near all of the space under the dash on the passenger side and the duct connections take up most of the space moving into the center area under the dash. Doesn't leave much room to do both aftermarket air and an under dash brake setup.
