lowering

I took the rear shackles off to drop the rear so the truck was closer to level.

If I wanted to drop the truck a little more is it possible without replacing spindles or any other major work? Just a little lower, maybe an inch, or 2" max.

Re: lowering

Your choice to lower the front is as follows:

Lowering springs - 2”
Dropped spindles - 2-2.5”
DJM tubular control arms - 2”

Remember these year trucks had kits that dropped them:

Front/Rear

2/4
4/6 - requires c-notch and under bed trim above pumpkin
5/7 - same

Lowering springs are availalbe in more then just 2", namely 1" and 3" drops as well. I never found any 2.5" drop spindles for this gen truck either.

OP- so you lowered the rear some, are you asking about rear only or the entire truck down 1-2" more now?

Lower the entire truck another 1" or so. It is currently fairly close to level so I would want to drop it an equal amount front and rear.

Re: lowering

Rear you can do the leaf spring front mounts known as hangers, or get lowered leafs. Front I'd just get some new springs, they don't make 1" spindles.
